Do you know that Work Stress Equals Fewer Workouts
Demanding bosses and looming deadlines make it difficult for employees to stick to their exercise regimens, according to the results of a new study.
Researchers at Middlesex University in the U.K. surveyed more than 200 employees of a computer company about their exercise intentions and then again a week later to see how well they followed through on those intentions.
Fifty-four employees were classified as having a high-stress job, which was defined as having high demands and little control over their work.
Not only did these workers express lower self-confidence in their ability to stick to an exercise program, they also exercised less frequently than did their colleagues.
Furthermore, the employees who said they intended to exercise but were unsuccessful were most likely to cite work demands as the reason they didn't make it to the gym.
Lead researcher Dr. Nicola Payne believes ''people in high-strain jobs may not have the time for exercise or they may be too fatigued to exercise because they need more time to recover after the working day.''
She hopes that employers will come to recognize exercise as a priority and actively encourage it.

A blackhead is when the pores that are close to the surface clog up with bacteria, dirt, and dead skin cells. If the pore is open, and the dirt and oil is exposed to the air, it reacts to the oxygen turning the inflammation into a dark-colored blackhead. It is the dirt, bacteria and skin cells that keep the oil from flowing to the surface of the skin causing this condition.
There are many ways to remove blackheads fast, both with home remedies, and commercial techniques.
One home remedy used for removing blackheads fast involves the cylinder of an ink pen. Dismantle your ink pen by removing the ink cartridge. Take the cylinder, which is a good circumference for most black heads. Put the cylinder over the blackhead and gently apply pressure, turning the cylinder around. While this works, it unsanitary, so you will need to make sure that you clean the area well afterward.
Another good method to removing blackheads fast would be to use a commercial blackhead gun. The operation of this instrument works the same as a pen cylinder, but is more gentle to the skin, more sanitary, and the circumference of the gun is designed especially for blackheads.
With both treatments, be sure to clean the area once the pus is removed, with mild soap and water. Apply cold pressure to the area so that the pores close up afterward.
Along with the mechanic methods used to remove blackheads fast, you can also use over the counter products, such as blackhead strips that adhere to the blackhead and are removed as you peel the strip off. There are topical solutions to removing blackheads as well. To make sure you get the most out your topical solution choice, apply steam or a warm cloth to the area to allow your pores to open, so that the solution has a better chance to get down into the pore to remove dirt, oil, and dead skin.

This just in: Eating smaller bites of ice cream is the key to avoiding the highly dreaded ice cream headache, a.k.a. brain freeze.
This critical finding, which was published in the December issue of British Medical Journal, was made by 13-year-old Maya Kaczorowski, who carried out her experiment on fellow middle school classmates in Hamilton, Canada.
Half of Dalewood Middle School's 145 students were given the difficult task of eating two scoops of vanilla ice cream in less than five seconds.
The second group was instructed to eat the same amount slowly enough to still have some left after 30 seconds.
Twenty-seven percent of the hurried eaters developed an ice cream headache - more than the ''cautious'' eaters.
Interestingly, cold weather did not affect the incidence of headache, which appears to be triggered when the cold substance touches the roof of the mouth.
By the way, Maya received an A for her groundbreaking study and plans to conduct similar research using other flavors of ice cream.
